DUI Suspect Arrested After Driving on Rims

A British man was among hundreds of drivers arrested early Wednesday while returning from New Year's Eve parties. Only in his case, it wasn't his driving that prompted officers to stop him; it was his car's tires. Or, more precisely, lack of tires. The unidentified motorist was taken into custody after an officer spotted him driving through the city of Bury with just two rear tires. The front end of his car was supported only by rims, which were setting off a mini-fireworks display of sparks as they scraped against the pavement, according to Greater Manchester Traffic Police. Police say it was "no surprise" that he failed a breathalyzer test, which, by the way, showed his blood-alcohol content to be more than five times over the legal limit. Have you ever destroyed a car because you kept driving it when you shouldn't have?
