On, then off, it seems that Woodstock 50 could still happen, with organizers applying for permits to host the anniversary festival at a new venue. According to Variety, Vernon Downs could be the new home, which is no stranger to concerts. Phish played there twice in 1998. Plans would need to be scaled down as the racino in Oneida County, New York only has space for around 45,000-50,000 people and is located four hours from NYC, with no on-site camping facilities. Helping to keep the show alive, the CEO of Virgin Produced, Jason Felts, is considering signing onboard to serve as "a consultant to determine the event's feasibility, due diligence needs, and operational and financial assessment," says Billboard.
