According to many reports, Peart has passed away in Santa Monica, California, three years after being diagnosed with brain cancer. A spokesperson for the Peart family confirmed the news to Rolling Stone. Peart retired from Rush and drumming in 2015 and was considered as one of the greatest rock drummers of all time. Every year this man was voted in one poll or another to be consider in the top 3 ever to get behind the kit. His technical proficiency is known the world over, all the while weaving in his influences in jazz and big band acts.
