Superbowl commercial season is upon us and Planters is getting out ahead of everyone else with a new ad, showing the death of Mr. Peanut as he saves Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh from a nasty fall. It's all to set up another commercial to air during the Superbowl that features a funeral for Mr. Peanut. But really? Come on. This is kind of as low effort as it gets unless there's a huge payoff. I mean that football centered commercial they did with Alex Rodriguez earlier in the season was better than this, and I HATE Alex Rodriguez. But at least it was simple, this one looks like it could be just needlessly nuts. That's a pun and it didn't feel good to write.
