** article has been edited **

This weekend here's what you need to enjoy

  1. A cold one
  2. A delicious burger or hotdog from the bbq
  3. A great fireworks show
  4. Geek gossip and nerd news

Let's geek out!

Fourth Coming

Still on the edge of your seat waiting for any type of news from Marvel Studios regarding the reboot of Fantastic Four? You may want to sit back a little. According to Marvel Studios President (and fanboy), Kevin Fiege said there won't be any announcement soon.

However, you know that since we are on the doors of a new slew of Marvel movies there will be endless references and some surprise announcements. My money is on having the future post-credit scenes lead up to the reveal of the Fantastic Four.

Phantom Powers

If there is one member of the entire Power Rangers universe that could carry a series on his own, it's this guy. The Phantom Ranger was first introduced during the Power Rangers Turbo season and made some cameo appearances in the next season Power Rangers In Space. His identity has still been a mystery to this day, however, according to the comic book company Boom Studios, we won't have to wait much longer as they are planning to reveal his identity in the near future. Some theories circulating around claim that he was Zordan's son. Others have speculated that he is the embodiment of the Morphing Grid himself. Okay, cute. My theory has always been that the Phantom Ranger is none other than Billy Cranston, the original Blue Ranger.

Think about it. The Phantom Ranger knew everything about Zordon, Alpha, and the Turbo Rangers when he arrived. The teen prodigy had plenty of time to create these powers as he left during the Power Rangers Zeo season and since Billy is savvy with the Morphing Grid and able to create weapons and Zords for the Power Rangers, making a brand new suit and source would take him a Saturday night.

To add, Billy has been unofficially credited by fans and the whole lore that he was the one who designed the blueprints for the Turbo powers. Let's not forget that the Phantom Ranger gave the second-generation Turbo Ranger their Rescue Zords, and Billy was known to have backup plans in place in case something went wrong. It makes the case stronger that Billy is behind the helmet.

If you're asking "if he was Billy why not reveal it to the first-gen Turbo Rangers"? My answer to that is....that's for a future episode of the Geek Freak of the Week Podcast.

Pre-order him and the rest of wave 10 here

Spider Suit Up

The movie comes out in just about 5 months from now and still...no teaser trailer or even a plot point. All that aside, here's a look at Spider-Man's new suit for No Way Home. A little less blue with more Iron-Spider and Night-Monkey inspiration.

Spider-Man No Way Home swings into theaters December 17, 2021

EXTRA! EXTRA!

Black Widow arrives on Disney+ arrives next week. Here's a quick look at Scarlett Johansson recapping some things before it drops on Friday, July 9th.

Have a safe and food-filled weekend! Enjoy the latest issue of the Geek Freak of the Week Podcast available on the iHeart Radio and anywhere you listen to podcasts.
