BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Red Sox pace the Yankees by 10 games for the best record in baseball, helped by a current 7-1 road trip that concludes tonight in Philadelphia at 7 p.m.

Brock Holt was the hero last night with a tie-breaking, pinch-hit homer in the eighth and, as a result, Boston's won 30 of 36.

"I think the guys in here don't pay attention to things like that," Holt said of the team's record. "We just come to the field expecting to win. We're a confident team, we've been able to do that more times than not. We got a special group in here, everyone's pulling on the same rope, and it's a lot of fun to be a part of."

Nathan Eovaldi had a lot of fun his first two starts for the Sox - no earned runs spanning 15 innings. But, his most recent outing wasn't as enjoyable. Orioles tagged the righty for eight runs--four earned--in just two-and-two-thirds frames last Friday.

Eovaldi will try to follow Rick Porcello's lead after he bounced back from a horrid start with a gem last night.

Phillies have scored just 16 runs their last seven games. They'll counter with Vince Velasquez. The hard-throwing righty has a 2.68 ERA his last 10 appearances. He's faced Boston once in his career, in 2015.
