Joakim Nordstrom Turns Benching Into Positive With First Bruins Goal

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Bruins earned their third straight win with a 4-1 finish against the winless Oilers last night at the Garden, and Joakim Nordstrom entered the game with something to prove.

The forward was scratched in Boston's previous win Monday, but the wing returned to the lineup in place of Ryan Donato on the second line on David Krejci's left side, with Jake DeBrusk on the right. Nordstrom celebrated with his first point as a Bruin - a goal in the first period.

"It felt great. Just trying to help our team win and do whatever it takes," Nordstrom said. "Maybe I don't always contribute offensively by scoring goals, but it's always a nice reward."

The B's will try to sweep their homestand tomorrow against the Red Wings. Tuck-drop was bumped up to 3:00 PM from the originally-scheduled 7:00 to accommodate Game 1 of the ALCS between the Red Sox and Astros.
