Woman Sues Hair Salon She's Says "Scalped" Her

A woman has filed a lawsuit against a Houston salon, claiming a routine lightening treatment left her severely disfigured. Announcing the suit in a press conference on Wednesday, Idania Rivera -- who showed up with her head wrapped in bandages -- said she suffered chemical burns in the March 19th incident, leaving part of her scalp "destroyed." She said shortly after her hairstylist applied the lightening mixture, "I felt like someone was pulling my hair and I could feel my head burning."

The stylist washed out the product and gave her pain medicine, Rivera says. But in the weeks that followed, Rivera says she made "several" trips to the ER and kept losing hair. She's suing the salon, the hair product's manufacturer and the manufacturer's parent company. "Nobody expects to go into a hair salon and come out of there scalped, which is essentially what happened to our client," says Rivera's attorney, Hilda Sibrian. What's your worst experience involving your hair? Have you ever tried to color or cut your hair yourself, only to have it go horribly wrong?
