Red Sox Legend Bill Buckner Dead at 69 After Battle With Dementia

Former Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner died early Monday at the age of 69, per a report by ESPN’s Jeremy Schaap.The Boston legend had played 22 seasons in the majors, was an All-Star once and won a batting title in 1980. But it was a ball that went through his legs at Shea Stadium on a cool Oct. 25 night in 1986 that people feel defined his career, but Buckner didn't let the mistake ruin tarnish his other accomplishments.
