It was supposed to be a farewell tour of sorts, a farewell to Whitesnake from David Coverdale. It wasn't a retirement tour since Coverdale expressed interest in doing new music just not with Whitesnake. Want to hear "Here I Go Again" again? This was going to be the last time. The band was to finish their final shows in Europe than off to the Americas to join the Scorpions on a tour. Unfortunately, Coverdale started to experience sinus and trachea infections which forced cancelations in Europe and ultimately the cancelation of this summer tour. David has made it a point that he's turning 70 and he's just not interested in going through the rigors of touring. Now it looks like he'll have to endure it a little longer.
