It Feels Like 10,000 Days: Tool Explain It All In New Revolver Cover Story

Tool fans, you are a feisty bunch. In the 13 years since Tool released new music by way of 2006's 10,000 Days, we have had the proverbial carrot dangled in front of us. When word came down that the band had (finally) completed what was to be their next studio recording, we needed proof. The release of their entire catalog on streaming platforms (Opiate, Undertow, AEnima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days) was the gift we deserved. With their brand new, years-in-the-making, Fear Inoculum, set for release on August 30, the band announced title track, Fear Inoculum, will be unveiled by worldwide premiere on Wednesday, August 7.

To mark the momentous event of new Tool music, REVOLVER magazine interviewed the band - guitarist and visual mastermind Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey, bass player Justin Chancellor, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan - for its new 20-page cover story to get a look into what the last decade-plus has been like for the band and what went into the labor-intensive, Fear Inoculum.

"We're really hard on ourselves, so we don't pay much attention to people's expectations," Danny Carey admitted. "I wouldn't recommend it to the faint of heart — but it works for us."

The August/September issue of REVOLVER featuring the Tool cover story hits newsstands August 13. Pre-orders available here.
