My Weekend: Sunrises, Shopping Attempt, Parades, and Things That Fly

Not a bad weekend, if I must say so......even though Im still kind of struggling with a bit of a head cold!

On Friday night, Valerie and I decided- "Hey lets go get some Christmas shopping done!" So we headed to a local shopping area where there's a lot of outlet stores.

And this is what shopping with Valerie looks like..

She looks at everything. I just follow her. And most times - she buys nothing. You see, Valerie is much more frugal than I am. And while I'm not a big spender by any means, if I need to get the s*** DONE, then I'll buy it and move on. We got to the outlet area at 5:30pm. Early, right? NOPE. Stores started closing at 6pm! SIX FRIGGIN PM - ON A FRIDAY NIGHT TWO WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! What the hell is THAT? So we go to another store- and BAM: "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE WILL BE CLOSING IN 15 MINUTES" came over the loudspeaker. Are you kidding me? 7pm? Wow- how times have changed. And what sucks is - 1. we got NOTHING done. Didn't buy one gift. So guess what we did when we got home? You're right- we shopped on the internet. That sucks, right? I agree- but we only have limited times we can go shopping - and I realize that staffing is a problem and maybe thats the reason all these places are closing so early - but that bad part is - is that THAT -is exactly whats going to kill them because people will just shop on the internet if they cant find local places that are open!

Sign of the times, I guess.

And while I'm ranting- let me throw this at ya. See these?

These are the worst thing ever invented. Friggin ketchup packets with about as much ketchup as a wad of spit- are useless.

I swear if I was ever elected King, or President - the first thing I'd do is outlaw these things. (Second thing would be make every weekend a 3 day weekend. Period).

Ketchup packets. What am I? FIVE? haha

Next it was on to the Christmas parade in my home town....

Valerie's school had a float in the parade- and Valerie was one of the volunteers. They crushed it of course, and won first place in the Youth Float division. Amazing how much work goes into that stuff and those ladies did awesome. Oh - and my parents were part of the Grand Marshals too...

Look at em!! Ridin up front in the rag top!!! Haha- Connie and Arnie riding in style!

Got up and took off with the camera on Saturday morning too - got to see an old friend rebuilding his home and flying around...

Pretty cool to watch them - and see them build nests together. And the bald eagle population is still growing - which is awesome.

Also got out on Sunday and took in this scene just before sunrise in New Castle NH....

Beautiful start to the day.

The rest of Sunday was putting up the Christmas tree, and cleaning out the garage. No garage pics, but I'll leave you with this....

So there you go.....

Happy Christmas....

Hope you had a good weekend. Big week this week - BUZZ BALL on THURSDAY!!! WHOO HOOO!
