My Weekend: Drinks, Friends, Camp, Celts, Fiddleheads, and Lost in Maine

What a gorgeous weekend to have for a 3-dayer!!! WHOOO HOOOO!

And lets get right to the best moment of the weekend-

HOW ABOUT THAT DERRICK WHITE??????

I have been singing D White's praises for the last few months, and man he pulled off the greatest moment of the last few years on Saturday night!!! .1 seconds left and the guy scores the Game 6 game winner! We just about lost our s*** up at camp this weekend when that happened! Pretty sure they heard us across the lake!!!

The weekend started with a few Jimmy Juices at The Ferry Landing in Portsmouth. A buddy of mine from high school happened to be there and it was awesome bumping in to him -

Bob Lessard and I have been friends since high school. And have you ever had a friend that - no matter how long you go without seeing them - it always seems like you haven't missed a day? That's how it is with Bob and I. Years could pass, and we'd pick up right where we left off and it would feel like we hadn't missed a day. We got a lot of shared fond memories, thats for sure.

Headed up to Maine for the weekend after that, along with our friends Dave and Jolene. They have a camp up in the Eustis area, and it's perfect to get away to if you need a weekend to unplug and chill. Got up early and went out with the camera - and when I got back, I decided it was a good afternoon to hang out and read. I love to read, but I never get the chance to when I'm in work mode. Put me on vacation, however- and I love it.

Right now, I'm reading Stephen Kings "The Regulators". And for a book on tape - I'm listening to Daisy Jones and The Six. Two very different books- hahah.

Headed out exploring on Sunday afternoon - and ended up 30 miles down a logging road. Seriously- I had no idea where the **** I was!

We were looking for this little group of homes out in the god forsaken middle of NOWHERE - in a place called Holeb Township (I got the name wrong in the video). There's maybe 10 houses there, that's it. Oh, and an grass "airfield". No store, no bar, no nothing else. And yet - when we finally got there - 5 or 6 other cars came up after us doing the same thing! Just driving down beat up, rocky logging roads- just to see this place!

Anyway- I can't explain it - but here's a little video I did -

And here's the four of us at the stream I shot the video in -

Oh and did I mention Molly came along?

On one night, we had dinner at the awesome COPLIN HOUSE in Stratton ME. The food is always EXCELLENT, and the Cioppino (seafood stew) I had was money!

And the next night? We grilled up some steaks and the Maine delicacy known as FIDDLEHEADS! Man are they good! Kind of like a cross between asparagus and broccoli! You just have to wash em, blanch em, dry em - and fry em up with some butter and garlic- and they are killer! Great veggie side!

And when you're at camp - there is nothing better than camp coffee-

Theres something about being in a place that's totally silent - with the exception of the birds and wind, and sitting out enjoying that first cup of joe for the day. Great way to start any day, for sure-

It's now Monday night, and I got home early enough to get the pool going, mow the lawn, and some other stuff- all in preparation for the Celtics game.

That starts in about an hour from now - so fingers crossed- LFG Celtics!!

Hope you all had a good weekend!
