Sounds like a Jimmy Buffett album, right? (His was actually Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads - and the box set is a must have for any fan). But let's get back to the weekend!
As I sit here on Sunday night, I'm telling myself that I'm gonna really try to be in bed by 8:30p - but I fail in that prospect 99 out of 100 times.
Regardless- not a bad weekend at all! Weather was pretty great for the most part! Did a bunch of yard work, got the pool closed up, and even took in TWO birthday parties in the family! But I got NO pics of any of that stuff - so here's the rest of the weekend!
Friday night is Brewer Tour 24 night- and this time we ended up in Hampton NH at Throwback Brewing Co! I had never been before, and it's on a large farm and the beer is good and the food is farm to fork - and that was a win as well! Our beer tour buddies are Gary and Lorraine and we always have a good time no matter where we go!
And this is what i get anytime I try to take a pic of my wife.....
Seriously- how can you not love her, right? Hahah -
Saturday morning I got up at 4:30a and headed out with the camera to shoot. The forecast sucked, but big waves were predicted along the ocean, and I ended up in York ME. When I stopped at Nubble Lighthouse- I saw this bald eagle sitting on the top of the house connected to the lighthouse-
So I posted up with the tripod and waited to see if he'd fly soon. And after 1 hour of looking into the viewfinder of the camera and never taking my eye of this sonofabitch - haha - HE FLEW -
I know - its not the best shot- but it was the best I could do with the gear I had with me! Haha- I did MUCH better the next day, so hold on!
Saturday night, after a family birthday party, we went with our friends Jolene and Dave and headed to the bookstore. Yup! Thats our date night! A trip to Barnes and Noble! And don't knock it! We go - each of us finds something we're into - for me it was New England photography books - and i grab a coffee and sit and check the books out! Its like STEALING - since you're reading the books, actually- but it's ENCOURAGED!
As someone who does travel all over New England for photography- a lot of people ask me how I find out about all these beautiful places? And that's the answer- I do research on DATE NIGHT AT THE BOOK STORE! (And it's FREE!)
Sunday morning I was back out again- and this time I went to Rye for the sunrise over Rye Harbor -
Here it is before the sun -
and here she is after sun up -
And I happened up another bald eagle on Sunday - and this one landed pretty close to me!
So I only had to wait about 45 minutes for this one to fly- but I was ready -
and if that wasn't enough- a Mom Snowy Egret was playing with her kids nearby...
Then it was another birthday party (for a 6 year old this time), and home to finish closing up the pool, and watch a bit of the Pats game.
I know - it may not sound like the most exciting rock and roll weekend- but I will take it just the same.
Hope you had a good one too!

ps. Here's my weekly pic of our dog Daisy Mae looking over the top of the love seat....
