My Weekend: Roadtrip to Cape Cod! Foxes, Axes & Sleeping in a Truck!

So, Valerie and I were going to the Cape this weekend - but I went down a day early so I could do some photo stuff around the end of the Cape near Provincetown. I had never been down to the tip of the Cape and I wanted to explore the dunes a bit. But first things first-

I was driving thru Hyannis and I saw TAYLOR SWIFT!

Well, that's what I told Kayla on Thursday afternoon! Woke her up from a nap, so she was groggy- and the bought it HOOK,LINE AND SINKER!!! Hahah- Totally had her with it - and she was NOT HAPPY!!! Afterwards, I posted the above pic, just to rub her face in it a bit-

First stop on the Cape was the Dunes in Provincetown. I wanted to hike out to the famous Dune Shacks. I read up on the dunes so i knew what to expect- and the "trails" are listed as "VERY DIFFICULT" - and I was, like - "How hard can it be? 3 miles out to some old shacks that photographers have shot for years!!?

HOLY HELL!

This is the START of the trail - and this dune is about 60 FEET HIGH! And your feet sink in - ON EVERY STEP- about 6-8 inches in sand - which makes climbing hills like this a giant pain in the ass! Hahah- it was a good work out, true- but I m NOT ever going anywhere in the desert, I can tell you that! BUT- I did it. Got out there and it was stunningly beautiful!

2000 acres of dunes - and when you're out there- you are out there ALONE! Pretty crazy!

Got some night shooting in at Cape Cod Light (Highland Light), It's so cool being out in a place like this in the middle of the night and having the place to yourself.

And since the house I was staying at was an hour away back in Hyannis- I just slept my my truck in a parking lot!

I wanted to see if I could get some milky way shots in the overnight- but it was cloudy. Still, i checked a few times thru the night to see if it cleared up.

I did -however- get some night shots in Provincetown - which is a cool little town!

Valerie and our friends arrived on Friday afternoon - and we had a great time-

Dinner? Well, when you're at a place called the LOBSTER POT- you GET A LOBSTER!

Had some fun axe throwing- and it turns out- Im pretty good at it!

It rained on Saturday, so we took to the movies- and saw the ACCOUNTANT 2- and it was AWESOME!

And it was back out at 3am on Sunday to see if I could catch a Milky Way -

It was a gorgeous night-
