Weekend in NYC - My iPhone Pics & Thoughts on NYC

I spent the weekend in NYC with my wife and daughter, and our friends Dave and Jolene and their daughter Emily. We had been trying for months to get tickets to see "Hamilton" - and we finally got lucky. Both Friday and Saturday were 74 degree days and were gorgeous!

The show as incredible. I've never been so blown away by a musical cast recording than I was when I first heard "Hamilton". When it first came out, I heard "It's rap" - and since I'm not a big rap guy, I didn't give it much thought. In reality - it's not. Well, it's not all rap. What it is- is the best storytelling set to music I've ever heard. I've been listening to it for 2 months now - and it's still awesome. BUT ANYWAY-  the show was great and we had a blast.

Now - some thoughts on being in NYC:

-Drivers in NYC love their horn. Like, LOVE THEIR FRIGGIN HORN. I don't get it. If I had a bat, I would have smashed a few windshields. Ugh. I hate people who lay on the horn for no reason. Dicks.

-Great place to visit, but I could never live there. Too many people and way too much noise- but I do love how alive it is. I mean - you can feel the pulse 24/7 - and you can't help but want to be a part of it. But - after a week or so of that constant pulling at me - I think I'd croak.

-Why am I the ONLY one who moves when walking down the sidewalk? Why does every other friggin asshat think they can walk straight into you without moving? Man - I wanted to lean a shoulder into a few pricks just to knock em on their ass to teach em a lesson.

-Nobody smiles when walking down the street in NYC. And I got fooled by so many people who were walking down the street with headphones on - because I thought they were talking to me, when they were really on their phone. Them: "Hey man, how you doing?"  Me: "Im great, thanks-  (noticing their not talking to me).......errrrr.........%^&_*&! BUT I must say - if I had to walk in that crowd daily- I wouldn't be smiling either.

-Im pretty sure everything you eat will cost $100.

-Uber is the coolest app ever - but it's still gonna cost you 50 bucks to go 4 miles.

-NYC is a photographers dreamland. SO much to shoot. So many lines, and different textures. There's a photo to be taken at every angle.

-I hate f'n creepers. And they're everywhere. Saw dudes walking down the street waking photos/videos of girls walking behind them.

-It's tough to beat a hot dog from a NYC street cart.

-Even though I said people don't smile when walking down the street, and the drivers love their horns - I have to say that everybody we met was incredibly nice. Like- surprisingly kind. It was awesome.

-And lastly - sitting in the sun at a cafe table at 9am on a 70 degree Saturday morning with your wife, with the Empire State Building towering over you....

is pretty damn cool.

It was a great weekend-
