I have been doing Intermittent Fasting since April of last year. I am down 30lbs and feel great! It makes sense why we are a country plagued by obesity - we eat 6-10 times a day! Our body's have no time to burn stored fat, it's constantly burning the food we are putting in to it. For years I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing any weight when I trained for a marathon! I was running 5-20 miles 5 days a week! I was heavy, flabby and bloated! Since doing this I have more energy, I am more toned and no bloat! Now I run 3-5 miles 5 days a week, and do weights a couple days a week, but with fasting my body burns stored fat for energy! I started with 16 hours of fasting (only water and black coffee) and would eat in an 8 hour window. Now somedays I go up to 20 hours of fasting! It's crazy to me that I can do that but honestly I think we eat because it's a habit or we are bored. I get distracted with other things and don't even realize I have done a 20 hour fast! If you try it start out with the 16:8 schedule - the first 4 days might be tough, but stick with it and you will be so happy you did!
