Whoa, my life is nothing like it used to be . . .and I am not complaining, I am just living. I have found new joys in life; I am learning who I am. It was always "Laura and Jeff" or "Jeff and Laura" my life was OUR life. So in the last 10 months my life, being turned upside down, has made me not neccessarily recreate myself, but just learn, listen and feel out who I am or want to be. Tough at 44 years old to figure this all out, but here I am and I think I am really settling in. Jeff will always be in my heart, my thoughts and my life, but I can't be the one to sit around being sad, questioning every decision I make and decision he made and not living a life that I want for me and my boys. So here I am . . .I stay really busy, as always and I love the people I am surrounded by so very much. I just am living so much in the moment that I have a lack of pictures.
Friday, we laid Brian, my sister's long time boyfriend to rest at the Veteran's Cemetary in Boscawen. It was a moving tribute to a man we all loved. My parents, sister, niece and nephew then went out to lunch to enjoy each other's company. Parker had a school event Friday night, so Dylan and I watched "Michael" a movie he had wanted to see. . . .Michael Jackson's life was pretty messed up. And I made his favorite chicken nachos.
Saturday, Dylan's team got crushed in football. Dylan had a great fumble recovery, but then had his thumb smashed between helmets and today we will go to urgent care to see if it's sprained or broke. Then I went to Pembroke City Limits to see a John Prine tribute. Great music and so much fun with people I love.
Sunday, home to make some food for a HORRIBLE Patriots game. Good food, amazing company and terrible football . . . 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Sunday night we were supposed to go to see The Shins open up for Weezer at the Garden. I have always wanted to see The Shins, but rain, being tired and a Sunday night all played into the fact that I didn't go. My night though turned out much better sitting at home and time for my ribs to heal. P.S. Broken Ribs - just shitty!
Who am I?! I don't think I would have just cancelled going to a show even if I wanted to. . . .I am changing, life is changing and even though none of this was what I had planned, I think somehow this was the plan. My boys and I are okay and we definitely are not only waking up everyday and continuing on, but we are facing each day with force. I am proud of all three of us.
I hope you all had a great weekend and understand that I am living for each moment and that might mean a lack of pictures.
