Gillinder Glass has been producing high quality glass since 1861. The Port Jervis company uses a combination of old and new technology. It's the oldest continuously operating business in the city. The year the Times Square Ball was updated with over 2,600 brand new glass tiles. All of them were made at Gillinder Glass. Each piece was designed to withstand the elements and add brilliant light to the celebration. There are two unique patterns. Each glass triangle weighs about a half pound.
