UPDATE: Rochester police say they have identified both the victim and the other people involved in Rochester's first homicide of the year.
They say no charges have been filed yet, but the evidence has been turned over to a grand jury.
The victim was 23-year-old Preston Papalia of Rochester.
Police say he became involved in an argument with a group of people on Curtis Street near Santee Street on the northwest side early yesterday morning.
He was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
There are no arrests in Rochester's first homicide of 2025.
