A man is in custody after a shots fired incident in Springfield just hours into the new year.
Police say officers were called to the Westford Circle area after several ShotSpotter activations around 2:30 a.m Wednesday.
Authorities said a vehicle near the scene was pulled over, but a passenger ran off as soon as it stopped.
The driver was taken into custody, and an AR-15 was reportedly found in the vehicle.
The passenger is still at large.
