The Sugar Bowl was highlighted by a penalty on a Georgia player not even eligible to play in the game getting called for a penalty for interfering with an official on the sideline which negated a huge gain for the Bulldogs and cost them their momentum in the 2nd quarter. While it may not have changed the ultimate outcome, it certainly would have been a much different game had Parker Jones just stayed home.
Doug Gottlieb: “The momentum completely changed on that play. It just did. Doesn’t mean Notre Dame wouldn’t have won the game, doesn’t mean Georgia would’ve. It would’ve been a different game. So the first thing is; yeah, you’re absolutely right to criticize Parker Jones.”
