The Browns aren't guaranteed to have their star quarterback ready for next season.
General manager Andrew Berry told the media on Monday that Deshaun Watson had a setback while recovering from an Achilles injury he suffered back in October.
Berry said the recovery process will be "extended" but doesn't have a timetable for Watson's return.
The three-time Pro Bowler has started only 19 games due to injury or suspension since being traded to Cleveland from the Texans in 2022.
The Browns finished the regular season last in the AFC North at 3-and-14 and will pick second in April's draft.
