Would be illegal aliens are starting to get desperate. They've begun trying to hitch rides on dangerous cargo trains in order to get to the U.S. before Trump takes office in just a couple of weeks. They think that if they can get in under the Biden administration, they'll get to stay.

Incoming border czar Tom Homan told Fox News that there's a clear reason for them to think that. He said, "If you look at the historic number of illegal entries over the last four years, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has the lowest number of deportations in the history of the agency."

Texas DPS Spokesperson Lt. Chris Olivarez also recently told Fox Business that even the cartels and smugglers themselves have gotten more desperate. He said that, "They're gonna want to change and adapt to what the policies are going to be in 2025 and so on."

This may have been what motivated them to begin construction on a smuggling tunnel that was recently discovered in Mexico, complete with elevators and a railway track. Homan said that still won't be enough to get past the new Trump Administration's border security efforts. He told Fox that, "President Trump is going to take every effort to secure the border, including using the latest technology on tunnel detection, and shutting these things down."

Former acting ICE Director Ron Vitiello also spoke out about the growing desperation from both cartels and illegal aliens; he warned that as Trump's inauguration gets closer, some illegals might resort to violence to get across the border.
