Skaneateles police are investigating a series of break-ins involving unlocked vehicles in the village. The incidents occurred early Sunday morning (January 5) on Hannum Street, West Elizabeth Street, Sinclair Street, and Orchard Road. A 2014 Ford pickup truck was also reported stolen from Hannum Street.
According to FingerLakes1.com, the police are urging residents to review their home security footage for any suspicious activity that could aid the investigation. Residents are encouraged to report any relevant information by calling the Skaneateles Police Department at (315) 685-3819 during business hours or 911 for immediate assistance.
Officials are reminding the public to lock their vehicles and ensure keys or fobs are not left inside to prevent further incidents. WSYR-TV reported that the break-ins took place around 2:30 a.m.
Police continue to investigate and are asking for the community's help in identifying those responsible.
