A hotel worker, 21-year-old Ezequiel David Pereyra, who has been accused of delivering drugs to Liam Payne shortly before his fatal fall from his hotel room balcony, has surrendered to Argentinian police.
TMZ reports that Pereyra, who worked at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel as a bellboy, has been on the run after he was charged for giving Liam narcotics. He was seen on the video in the basement of the hotel in Buenos Aires shaking hands with the former One Direction star, and supplying him with drugs in a soap box. And according to TMZ, the video was recorded just three hours before Liam's fall, which was linked to his drug use.
Pereyra negotiated his surrender, and police then arrested him at his house, however, he has not yet entered a plea. According to Argentinian newspaper, La Nacion, he was staying just outside of Buenos Aires as his home was being raided by authorities. The publication also reports that "'Supply of narcotics,' a crime specified in article 5, paragraph 'e' of Law No. 23,737 on Narcotics, provides for a penalty of between four and 15 years in prison."
Payne was found dead at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina after falling from the balcony of his third floor room into the courtyard. Liam was just 31 years old, and leaves behind his seven-year-old son Bear, who he shares with ex Cheryl Cole.
