According to the Houston Fire Department, three firefighters have been injured while battling a fire at an apartment complex early this morning.
HFD says the firefighters where taken to the hospital with burns that varied in severity.
In a press conference this morning, Houston Fire Department Chief Munoz revealed that the three firefighters where in the midst of performing a "primary search," when they became trapped by a heavy door. They then put out a mayday call, which triggered a second alarm.
The three firefighters received second and third degree burns to the legs, neck, and hands, and where transported to Memorial Hermann hospital. They are expected to recover.
