Ice Spice Apologizes For Her Short New Year's Eve Performance In Australia

Ice Spice may have left the Wildlands Festival in Brisbane, Australia, on New Year's Eve with fewer fans than she arrived with. Her brief performance, lasting only five minutes, likely contributed to this. The New York rapper was expected to perform for 30 minutes but arrived 25 minutes late. As a result, fans only heard two songs: "Deli" and "Princess Diana." She was scheduled to perform from 10:30 to 11 p.m., and the timing was strict due to the festival's lineup. Organizers wanted attendees to enjoy the countdown to 2025. Reports indicated that Ice Spice's attitude during and after her performance was disrespectful. Journalist Brenton Larney told The Guardian that fans waited for a long time, only to receive two songs, calling the situation ridiculous. He noted her dismissive behavior when she walked off stage and how she shrugged off birthday flowers from fans. Larney mentioned that it appeared Ice Spice "didn't want to be there."

After the event, the "Think U The S*** (Fart)" rapper remained silent until January 4, when she performed in Perth. Before her set, she offered a brief apology for her recent tardiness, saying, "I’m sorry guys, surely y’all can forgive me. It was my birthday and it takes a long time to look like a Barbie." This seemed more like a transition into her next song, "Barbie World," than a genuine explanation. Keep it locked to 103.5 The Beat for more!
