The Edge has hinted that a new U2 song might be on the horizon. During his appearance on the Sodajerker on Songwriting podcast, he shared how much the band enjoys their time in the studio. "We never turned it into work. We’ve always had fun," he said, expressing his love for making music with bandmates Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen, and Bono. The camaraderie and creative energy they share continue to be a big thrill for him.
The Edge revealed that the band is currently working on several new songs, and fans might not have to wait long for a new release. "There might be a new U2 song happening very soon, which you’ll hear about… Can’t say any more than that, but we’re in a great place creatively," he teased.
U2's last new song, "Atomic City," came out in 2023, and their most recent album of original material was 2017's "Songs of Experience."
