The search for a man wanted on multiple warrants led to a police operation in Bourne.
At around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, Bourne Police assisted the Barnstable Police Department with an attempted arrest at a home on Heather Hill Road where they believed 49-year-old Jerome Trent was.
According to police, Trent was wanted for assault with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm for an incident in Barnstable.
Due to the nature of the charges, the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council's SWAT Team responded to assist, and area residents were told to shelter in place.
The SWAT team eventually entered the home, but according to police, Trent was not located.
Bourne Police are thanking the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, the Bourne Fire Department and the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services for their assistance.
