(Menlo, IA) -- A woman is dead after a house fire in Guthrie County Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported in Menlo around 9:30am Tuesday. When firefighters arrived, they found flames and heavy smoke coming from inside the house. Neighbors told first responders they believed someone was inside. Firefighters were able to put the fire out and later found the body of a 73 year-old woman inside.
The name of the victim has not yet been released, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
