Miami-Dade, FL - A South Florida woman has been reunited with her beloved French bulldog Lola after the dog was stolen from her driveway.

Jennifer Perez, overjoyed by the reunion, credits the power of social media and the kindness of strangers for making it possible.

“The community just rallied together in a way that I am humbled and blessed, and it must have worked because we got her back,” Perez shared during an emotional interview with WSVN 7News.

The saga began when Lola was taken from the Perez family's front yard while Perez’s husband was taking out the trash.

Perez recounted the moment, saying, “When he came with the second trash can, he realized there was a car right here in our driveway.”

A black sedan had pulled up, and someone inside grabbed Lola before driving away.

Despite her husband’s attempts to stop the car, Lola was gone, leaving the family heartbroken.

The Perez family quickly turned to social media, sharing their story and pleading for help in finding Lola.

Their heartfelt posts captured the attention of the local community, leading to an outpouring of support.

The family, who had adopted Lola nearly five months earlier after finding her malnourished, were determined to bring their rescue pup home.

After a week of searching, Perez received the call she had been praying for.

“Around 5:45 p.m. yesterday, somebody called and said they found her,” she said.

The caller explained that the story and the social media campaign had led them to identify Lola as the missing dog.

“She evidently told a friend that she found a Frenchie and was excited, but the friend said, ‘Wait a second. I’ve seen that dog on the news,’” Perez recounted.

The friend then searched online and was able to track down the Perez family.

The reunion took place at the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office South District Station.

Perez described the moment as “surreal” as she hugged Lola tightly, relieved that her nightmare was over.
