Demetrius Branca lost his 19-year-old son Anthony in 2014 when a distracted driver hit him as he slowed down to make a turn on his motorcycle. Now, he's working with lawmakers to pass legislation that will outlaw the use of handheld devices while driving across the state.
He says Florida's current 'no texting' law doesn't go far enough to prevent distracted driving accidents like the one that killed his son. He's currently visiting all 67 counties to rally support for the bill.
Ryan Gorman and Dana McKay spoke with Demetrius about his son's death, the devastating impact it had on his family, and how he's working to secure votes in Tallahassee.
