We’ll open our day with crime and punishment. Dave Bowman joins us as we look at your behavior at the airport. TSA is. Are you exhibiting signs that you may be up to something as you try to get from point A to point B? It’s profiling, plain and simple, but it can be a valuable tool. We should be more accepting of it in other circumstances.
Then, does the punishment fit the crime? A former Disney menu curator could be headed to jail for a long time after pleading guilty to federal charges of electronically changing Disney menus causing potentially dangerous foods to be mislabeled and other crimes. But there’s a kicker to the story that makes me wonder if the jail time is warranted at all.
An AP story in the Orlando Sentinel seems shocked that the Trump administration is vetting employees of the National Security Council. Should they really be surprised? Isn’t it smart to know and understand the mindset of the people working in the agencies the executive branch runs? Some employees are bailing out. Maybe that’s a good thing.
Here in Florida, there may be a sign that Governor DeSantis has entered the lame duck portion of his second term. The governor’s owned the legislature since he was first elected. The legislature has bowed to the governor’s will for six years. The honeymoon may be over as the governor wants a special session on immigration and other issues and the legislative leadership is saying no.
Our final hour will be devoted to the Toledo War as Mr. Bowman brings us Dave Does History.
