NBA Commissioner Adam Silver joins The Herd with Colin Cowherd. He talks about what the league is doing to help develop players both in the NBA and WNBA. He says they have considered idea of changing the 3-point line making changes to the game as players get better and offenses evolve. He agrees that load management is an issue and understands that it needs to be addressed. And he talks about the negative comments from Charles Barkley and the rest of the Inside the NBA crew.
Colin Cowherd: “Have you ever called (Inside the NBA)’s executives, or Charles (Barkley) and said, ‘Charles, could you not beat down on us every night?’ ...Have you contacted them at one point and said, ‘You guys are a little negative?’”
Adam Silver: “Never, ever, ever...In the case of that panel; Charles, Kenny (Smith), Shaq (O’Neal), of course Ernie (Johnson), I always have the sense that when they are critical, it’s your uncle at the Thanksgiving Day table...”
Colin: “[LAUGHTER]”
Adam: “...You know, this is, it’s the family. They have the credibility...I think it generates MORE interest in the league.”
