(Eagle Grove, IA) -- A former Eagle Grove Police officer is under arrest for sending obscene material to a minor.

Eagle Grove Police, with assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, followed up on a complaint against 27-year-old Colt Richardson, who at the time was an officer with Eagle Grove Police. DCI says an investigation showed evidence of dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor, a serious misdemeanor. The case is currently with the Wright County Attorney's Office for review.

According to a news release, Richardson was arrested Monday and has since been fired from the department.
