Half Of Americans’ Favorite Pizza Hasn’t Changed Since They Were Kids

It’s no secret that Americans love pizza, but it turns out, a lot of us are on auto-pilot when it comes to our slices. According to a new survey, the average American hasn’t changed their pizza order in more than two years, while one in seven have been eating the exact same pizza order for over five years.

The poll of 5-thousand U.S. adults across every state reveals:

  • Half of respondents say their favorite kind of pizza is the very same as it was when they were kids.
  • More than half (57%) say they’re open to trying new pizza combos, they just don’t know where to start.
  • Spice makes pizza taste better, according to 49%, and New Mexico and Hawaii are the states that add the most spice to theirs.
  • Michigan is the state with the most people who admit they’ve never tried a new pizza ever.
  • People in different states prefer to eat their pizza in different ways, like the 40% of Georgia residents who eat theirs crust first.
  • In Illinois, 53% would rather use a knife and fork than their hands and 66% of Minnesotans refuse to fold their pizza slices.
  • Folks in Iowa eat the most pizza per month, an average of five times, followed by Alaska (4.7 times) and North Dakota (4.9 times).
  • But Louisiana residents eat the most pizza in one sitting, with 3.3 slices, on average.
  • In every state, Friday is the most popular night to order pizza.
  • As for toppings, people like the classics best. Pepperoni is the favorite in 20 states, 18 states prefer meat lovers and eight states like supreme pizza best. In two states, the favorite is both supreme and pepperoni, while just one state prefers supreme and meat lovers, and veggie is only the favorite in one state.
