There are talks of Leonardo DiCaprio staring in 20th Century's coming film adaptation of The Devil in the White City. The bestselling book by Erik Larson tells the story of Dr. HH Holmes, one of the first documented serial killers, who killed anywhere between 27 to 200 people during the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893.
The World's Columbian Exposition was the first time Chicago hosted the World's Fair, a massive showing of science, art, and architecture. Such inventions include the Ferris wheel, the zipper, and even food like cracker jacks. This is the event that put Chicago on the map.
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in the film with talks of Martin Scorsese directing. He has directed such acclaims as The Wolf of Wall Street, Goodfellas, and The Departed. Scorsese also has experience working with DiCaprio as he stared in Scorsese's directed film, Shutter Island. The two would also be be producing alongside Rick Yorn, Stacey Sher, and Jennifer Davisson. There is currently no finished script, but DiCaprio and Scorsese say they have been developing this story for a while. It is unknown when filming will begin.
