Paul McCartney dropped a video for the Wings classic “Band On The Run”, to promote the new boxed set of the band’s catalogue. With all the success of past Beatles boxed sets and documentaries, it is a wonder that Paul McCartney hasn’t done a deep dive of Wings, the first anthology devoted to Paul McCartney's Wings came out Friday.
The anthology is a 1CD, 2CD, Blu-ray, 1LP and limited-edition 3LP color vinyl set. All include a 32-page booklet with photographs, interviews and is available for preorder.
Wings may have been a band that lived under the shadow of The Beatles, but unlike any of the other projects that the other Beatles were a part of, Wings is by far the most successful and long tenured amongst the Fab Four. Every one of their 23 singles reached the Top 40, including 14 Top 10 singles, five consecutive No. 1 albums, six chart-topping songs, and 11 Grammy nominations.
