One-Hundred-Five-Year-Old Navy Veteran Joins Pearl Harbor Observance

One-hundred-five-year-old Navy veteran Freeman Johnson was in Yarmouth Sunday to mark the 84th anniversary of the December 7th attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Centerville resident is one of the last known survivors of the 1941 attack by the Japanese.

The Yarmouth Rotary Club and the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center hosted the ceremony at the Veterans Park Flagpole at Smugglers Beach.

Mr. Johnson was 21 years old when he served aboard the USS St. Louis.
