Jasmine Crockett Announces Senate Run, "We Need A Bigger Voice"

After officially filing the paperwork to run for the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Texas, radical Rep. Jasmine Crockett finally made the official announcement, although she did so almost an hour late at a news conference in Dallas.

"There are a lot of people that said, 'You gotta stay in the House. We need our voice. We need you there,'" Crockett said, "And I understand. But what we need is a bigger voice."

Governor Greg Abbott already weighed in this morning, saying that Crockett is going to get "crushed", and Texas Attorney General Paxton just issued a statement:

“Crazy Jasmine Crockett is going to lose by double digits in the general, but John Cornyn has ALREADY—nearly six months out from the runoff—stolen $40 million that should have gone to Senate races in Georgia, NC, Michigan, etc. Even after lighting all that money on fire he's still so unpopular in Texas that he's in third place in the primary, unless of course he's paying for the poll. The bottom line is that John Cornyn wants to sacrifice the GOP Senate Majority by spending $100M on his losing primary race. It's beyond selfish, but that's just who he is.”

The announcement is likely extremely upsetting for John Cornyn, who counts Jasmine Crockett as one of his best friends. Cornyn even went so far as to call Jasmine Crockett his “dance partner.”

Incumbent Senator John Cornyn issued a statement as well:

“Jasmine Crockett does not represent the views of a majority of Texans,” said Sen. Cornyn. “Her time in Congress has been marked by deeply unserious public statements, little to no actual work for her constituents and over-the-top rhetoric and childish insults. She is radical, theatrical and ineffective. As the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate, our campaign will make sure every Texas voter knows how absurd her candidacy is, and in the process provide up ballot support to down ballot Republicans, including the five new Congressional seats that President Trump has made a priority.”
