2 Alvin ISD Schools Closed For The Rest Of The School Year

As promised, the storms are here.

As of early Wednesday morning, more than 20,000 CenterPoint customers were without power. You can track potential power outages HERE.

Due to significant water damage from the storms, the Alvin ISD has announced that Wilder and Mary Marek Elementary are closed today, and will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.

According to Harris County meteorologist Jeff Lindner, "This kicks off a wet pattern into the weekend…heaviest rains may end up this weekend. Flood threat will increase with time as grounds saturate and runoff increases."

The current round of storms should come to end later Wednesday morning. But there are more storms in the forecast through the Memorial Day weekend.

You can track the radar HERE.
