Maz's Geek Freak of the Week!

First off...HAPPY STAR WARS DAY! Now here are the following things that happened this week in the news in our nerd nation:

Earlier this week, HASBRO Toys (Transformers, G.I. Joe, Monopoly, and more) purchased the entire Power Rangers franchise for $522 Million….IN CASH!  Forget about a sequel to the 2017 movie, a reboot is more likely now.  (Damn…I really liked the cast too)

The title of Thursday’s episode of CW’s Arrow was named Docket Number 11-19-41-73.  This easter egg refers Green Arrows first appearance in More Fun Comics (that's 100% gone) which came out in November 1941, issue #73.

Speaking Arrow…Paul Blackthorne aka Captain Quentin Lance will be leaving the series at the end of this season.   He’s been with the show since day one.  This marks another original character from the first season to leave the show.  Earlier this season Willa Holland who played Thea Queen/Speedy left the show.  Seems that everyone is jumping ship over there....

Solo: A Star Wars Story tickets are now on sale for May 25.

Avengers: Infinity War has made over $900 million (after a whole week).  This movie will track to $1 Billion easily by next week.

If you did Infinity War and need a pick-me-up Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer buzzed in! .....See! Size DOESN'T matter!

Netflix announced the name for their new Sabrina reboot series.  The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. OH! And season 3 of Stranger Things is now in production!

For some DC Comics news…..Warner Brothers and DC announced the launch of DC UNIVERSE,  a subscription service like Netflix.  No word on launch date or price yet, but it will have the return of Young Justice, the live action series Titans (based on Teen Titans…not the Cartoon Network series), a live action Swamp Thing, and an animated Harley Quinn series.  Expect Marvel/Disney to make their announcement soon on their new streaming service.  Add that to your monthly bill list.

I'm Maz and that's your Geek Freak of the Week! (brought to you by no one)
