Go Sports! Root For The Geek Freak of the Week!

Most are...but if you need a distraction from all this football intensity there is a Harry Potter movie marathon on SYFY/USA Network this weekend. To add to the marathon it is the television premier of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

All the times the magical prequel airs is at 8pm on the USA network. Wands at the ready!

But rejoice my fellow geeks and nerds! There is a reason to watch the game as there are rumors of a Spongebob inspired performance during the half time show! Remember that epic performance?

If that indeed does happen...then it's well worth watching some sports! I think it's leaning towards a reality because Rodger Bumpass (the voice of Squidward) is rumored to be introducing the half time show, plus this story surfaced not so long ago. So if you are a betting guy or gal, call Vegas and put your bids in!

Alright, enough chit chat about sports. This week was mostly about the DCEU & Warner Brothers as they had more news to report than Vicky Vale would in a newscast on Gotham News Radio so we have some extreme geeking out to do. So as the Joker says: "and here we go....."

Harley Quinn Is Back...And With Some Friends!

This teaser arrived rather early! (Almost a year) If this isn't rated R, I might shave my head. Before I make any real bets here's a quick break down:

We see Black Canary drinking a huge bottle of booze, the crossbow of The Huntress , a more modern and stylish gangster look for Black Mask , and a young girl in a pink cast, which belongs to Cassandra Cain (a future Batgirl). Plus, we get to see our very own Harley Quinn in a new flashy bird-style outfit sporting a new hairdo.

It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it type teaser but it's making it known that the Queen of Clownish Crime is coming back and has some new friends with her!

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will be released on February 7, 2020.

In some other related news: Suicide Squad sequel gets a title and release date. THE Suicide Squad and is set to hit screens August 6, 2021. Is it a reboot? Read that story here !

Enter The Land of Zombies

New year, new sequel and title! October 11 of this year we get to travel around again with Columbus, Wichita, Little Rock (who is not so little anymore) and Tallahassee. Ironically, the release date is the same day as the first Zombieland movie when it came out back in 2009. This beats all the 10-year-challenge that all your friends are doing on social media.

This Will Be So Schway!

** for those not knowing what Schway means...it's what the kids of the future in the DC world say for "cool" or it can be used to describe something awesome. It's heavily used on The Flash thanks to the animated Batman Beyond series **

Many were hoping that the next Batman movie was going to be redirected into a Batman Beyond film but now reports are stating that we will get a futuristic story of the caped crusader...but in animated form (guess they will take a page out of Sony's Spider-Verse success). So far it's just early talks...but Will Friedle is on board! (his reaction below)

speaking of Batman...

The DCEU Has Spoken

And Batfleck is out! Our next live action film about the Dark Knight is going to take a look at a younger Bruce Wayne and really focus on what made him the worlds greatest detective. Looks like this will still be set in the DCEU but years before Batman's time figuring out how to take down the Man of Steel and other Metahumans.

I know exactly what you are thinking...is this just another version of Batman Begins ? From the looks of it, yes it is. By the time this movie debuts it will have been 16 years since that movie came out. So by Hollywood standards, that's plenty of time for a reboot.

The new Batman film is set to be in theaters June 25, 2021.

SHIELD Agents...Assemble!

Season 6 is here and it's one of the few Marvel TV series that hasn't been tossed into the trash and thrown out. So here is what we know...Director Phil Coulson is dead (again), Fitz is frozen in space, and Mak is now the director. I guess the only person who has somewhat stayed the same was Sky...aka Daisy...aka Quake. In the trailer you can see her using her powers to make things go her way. We're going to have to wait a bit for all the action as the show is set to return this summer and we are only getting 13 episodes. Is this the beginning of the end for our misfit crew of agents?

And To Close Today's Read

The CW has renewed ALL of it's Superhero shows. No surprise there, especially since Crisis on Infinite Earths is set to shake things up this fall. With that, all the heroes and shows are needed to make it happen! No word on if they will be changing time slots or if the CW is happy with their current set ups. However, that's another story for another time.

After some digging, the Bleacher Report posted this Patriots/Infinity War parody. Give it a watch! I think in a weird way I understand some sports now!
