The Crisis Is Here! How Do We Survive? Tips In The Geek Freak of the Week!

Another week has passed and we it's finally that time of the year. Oh...no I'm not talking about the holidays. It's time for the annual Arrowverse crossover on the CW! Last year at this time, the annual event, called Elseworlds, ended, and then by surprise we learned this!

and now a year later this line can finally be uttered: The Crisis Is Here! This years crossover is based on the 1985-1986 comic series that changed the DC universe forever. Starting this Sunday the five night crossover event begins for CW's DCTV. Here's the line up

  • 8pm on Sunday December 8th - part 1 w/ Supergirl
  • 8pm on Monday December 9th - part 2 w/ Batwoman
  • 9pm on Monday December 9th - Black Lightning episode will not be apart of the main story but will feature a quick tie in to the event
  • 8pm on Tuesday December 10th - part 3 w/ The Flash

and then we wait until January for the rest.....

  • Tuesday January 14th we will get part 4 with Arrow starting at 8pm
  • part 5 follows that on the premier of Legends of Tomorrow starting at 9pm.

Did you get all that? Set the DVR's and make sure you catch Kevin Smiths "After Crisis" special following a few of the episodes. Okay, now the trailer!

Black Widow Goes Solo

This past week Marvel Studio's released the trailer for the upcoming Black Widow film to kick off phase 4 of the MCU. When in the timeline does this film take place? Between Captain America: Civil War & Avengers: Infinity War. Even though this is not a prequel for our favorite spy but it will introduce some of her friends from before she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and started running around saving the world with the Avengers. It's about time she received her own film.

Superman Returns?

No no...not talking about Brandon Routh over here (although he IS returning as Superman in Crisis on Infinite Earths) this time we're chatting about the most recent man of steel. Henry Cavill seems to still be interested in reprising his role as Superman in the future for DC and Warner Brothers. During an interview for his new show on Netflix, The Witcher, he was asked about the long rumored "Synder Cut" of 2017's Justice League and that's where we learned of his hope to maybe someday wear the suit and fly again. Right now, he's pretty busy with his new series so don't expect anything announced soon.

Return (again) to the Planet of the Apes

When Disney bought 20th Century Fox they were given the keys to a boat load of legacy franchises. Now, this is Disney, so what are they going to do? That's right REBOOT! Hey, they have to make their money back somehow. On the docket is another go at Planet of the Apes. Disney has hired Wes Ball, who directed the The Maze Runner movies to helm the project. So, when will we see this movie? Sometime around 2023.

1984 Called

And it wants to show us the new trailer for Wonder Woman! Debuting this weekend will be the first teaser for Wonder Woman 1984. Look for it here when it arrives!

Before you run to the TV and set the DVR for this weekends event, make sure you take a listen to the Geek Freak of the Week Podcast! I have the Crisis on Infinite Earths one listed below! Expect one after the first part airs this week!

Until next week...I'm Maz and that's the Geek Freak of the Week!
