Gather 'round kids it's time for a beloved Christmas story! Although this one is not the "normal" one you would see on TV or hear about that often. It's one of those feel-good stories.
The year was 1914 and the great European powers were having it out with each other. World War One, or The Great War, was suppose to last a few weeks. Months later, soldiers on both sides were deep in trench warfare at a complete stalemate on the western front in Belgium and France.
Even though they were sworn enemies, that changed for one moment on Christmas Eve of that year. British and French troops on one side and German on the other, laid down their arms and celebrated Christmas, not as adversaries, but as fellow human beings. This became known as the Christmas Truce.
