Hey, You, Smart Speaker. Show Me The Geek Freak of the Week!

*updated 2:52pm on 9/25/20*

This week Amazon and Apple showed us what's new with their devices. Apple introduced a new version of the Apple Watch and Amazon showed us their new line of dots, screens, and wrist bands.

I don't think smart speakers can SHOW you the geek freak but it can defiantly direct you to the podcast version!

Hello Geeks, nerds, and dorks, and welcome to another Geek Freak of the Week issue. New trailers arrived this week, shows were canceled, and movies are on the move. Let's geek out!

Hanging Up The Cape

Melissa Benoist tenure as the Girl of Steel will wrap up at the end of Season 6, which is set to premier in January of 2021.

The news of the shows cancelation arrived Tuesday evening. Supergirl has had one interesting series history. The show began on CBS however due to low ratings it was canceled after one season. The series was moved to the CW and joined the rest of the Arrowverse, helping with the multiverse story arc that had been set up in The Flash.

Don't worry about not having a super-series to watch. Even though SuperGirl is ending, her cousin Kal-El and Lois are getting their own series launching in 2021. It wouldn't be out of the question to see her or anyone else from the series make an appearance or two down the road.

Knock, Knock. The New Neighbors Are Here

The first look at Marvel's Wandavision is here. Does this remind you of the show, Bewitched? It seems similar....just on large does of extremis from Iron Man 3.

No release date with this trailer since all of Marvel's upcoming content is being shuffled around.

Marvel On The Move

Speaking of shuffling...here are the new dates to add into your calendars.

  • Black Widow - Nov 6, 2020 to May 7, 2021.
  • Eternals - February 12, 2021 to November 5, 2021
  • Shang Chi - May 7, 2021 to July 9, 2021.

Also on the list is Marvel's The Falcon and Winter Solider. After being allowed to resume production in Europe, the series will be released in 2021 on Disney+. Is the move to next year a production standpoint or does it fit into the overall arc for Marvel's Phase 4 plans?

**updated**

Alright, here's some good news regarding Marvel. It also looks like Nick Fury is getting his own series on Disney+. That's right mother f-ers. That story here!

Schools In Session

The Boys might be getting a spin-off series. I say "might" because the news states it is in development. In the first description it states "a cross between a college show and hunger games". I think I am sold already.

Season 2 of The Boys is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Let There Be Peace

Ready to see a series with John Cena? One may be coming to HBO Max in the near future. Story goes like this: Director James Gunn wrote the series for the character while in quarantine. I hope this is the title...I really do.
