Shut Up Man! The Geek Freak of the Week Is Here

I know, I know. No Geek Freak last week. Took a break okay!

If you haven't already, the finale episode of the season of The Boys is now on Amazon Prime Video. If you waited until all the season was done to binge, now is the time! Go watch.

Now, it's time to geek out!

Let's Get Dangerous

Here's the first look at Gosalyn (voiced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz). She's Darkwing Ducks sidekick and adoptive daughter, and she will be making her reboot debut in the upcoming one-hour long episode of Ducktales featuring the protector of St. Canard.

Along with Gosalyn, Taurus Bulba (voiced by James Monroe) one of Darkwing Duck's most vicious rogues will be charging his way into the episode. Think of him as a Lex Luthor and Kingpin type foe. Side note: in the 90's series, Taurus Bulba was the reason Gosalyn, DW, and Launchpad all crossed paths. Nice play to the original series!

When does all this fun begin? Let's Get Dangerous will air Monday, October 19th at 7pm on Disney XD. Yes, I have it set to DVR and so should you!

Power Flip

Hasbro is adding to your childhood nostalgia. If you ever owned one of the Power Ranger figures with the mechanical flip heads and lost it somehow in one of your various moves...fear not, they're back!

You can pre-order Jason, Zach, Kimberly, and Billy (separately) through Wal-Mart. But where's Trini and Tommy?! Those two will arriving later.

Can we just address the elephant in the room? Their heads to body ratio is WAY OFF! Really, Hasbro. Really?!

Moving on....

Electro Is Back?

Love his performance or not as the sinister and electrifying villain of Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, it looks like Marvel Studios and Sony are bringing Jamie Foxx back into the blue CGI for the untitled Spider-Man 3 film that is set in the MCU. This serves two purposes.

  1. Adds another member to complete the Sinister Six that was eluded to in Spider-Man: Homecoming
  2. The Spider-verse or....multiverse?

Here Comes Dr. Strange

I mean, his next movie is called In The Multiverse of Madness. Before we get into the multiverse theory....it's been confirmed that Benadict Cumberbatch will be reprising his role as Doctor Strange in the next stand-alone Spider-Man movie. Just like Tony Stark and Nick Fuery, Doctor Strange will act as a mentor to Peter Parker. I guess the theme for the next phase of Marvel, involving Spider-Man that is, to have some of the veteran heroes take him under their wing and guide him. Is this so he doesn't become another Tony Stark? Perhaps.

In the comics, Spider-Man did team up with many of Marvel's heroes from time to time. A nice homage to those stories as they try to switch things up for Phase Four.

Movies on The Move

Matt Reeve's The Batman starring Robert Pattinson has been delayed...again. Moving from October 2021 to March 2022. Here we go again.

That's it for this week! Don't forget to check out the latest Geek Freak of the Week Podcast! Available on iHeart Radio and other podcasting platforms. Until next week...I'm Maz and that's the Geek Freak of the Week!
