Geek Freak of the Week Issue 133

So many shows on so many streaming services and very little time to get it all done. Let's geek out!

The Kickoff To Phase Four...BEGINS!

The first (of many) streaming shows featuring members from the MCU begins on Disney+ with WandaVision. Watch the 1st TWO episodes now (if you already haven't). Here are the rest of the episode release dates:

  • Episode 1 & Episode 2: Friday, January 15, 2021
  • Episode 3: Friday, January 22, 2021
  • Episode 4: Friday, January 29, 2021
  • Episode 5: Friday, February 5, 2021
  • Episode 6: Friday, February 12, 2021
  • Episode 7: Friday, February 19, 2021
  • Episode 8: Friday, February 26, 2021
  • Episode 9: Friday, March 5, 2021

Along with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprise their roles as Wanda Maxinoff and Vision, returning is Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis (Thor and Thor: The Dark World) and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo (Ant-Man and Antman & The Wasp) in this series.

MCU Bound F**KERS!

Finally, some happy news! Everyone's favorite red and black loud potty mouth anti-hero, Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds), is officially being added into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And yes, it will be rated R.

Deadpool 3 is slated to arrive in our lives sometime in 2023.

Morbius on the Move

Spider-Man's vampire frienemy Morbius, played by Jared Leto, is taking the bite yet again of being delayed and moving from March 19, 2021, down to October 8, 2021 for a theatrical release. This is the fourth time the movie has been moved since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sony does not have a streaming service like the other big studios so if Morbius is forced to be released in a digital form along with theaters, either a team up with Disney+ or Hulu (due to the Spider-Man & Marvel collaboration) or Netflix would be their only option.

A Strange August

Ready for things to go upside down? (No, I am not talking about the state of the world) Netflix's hit series Stranger Things is set to be released on August 21, 2021. Back in February of 2020, Netflix released a quick teaser showing us that Hopper survived his explosive end and is alive in Russia.

Flying In

At the end of season 2 of The Umbrella Academy, the adoptive Hargreeves children return to their rightful place in time (modern-day) but a few things are different. First off, their Father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, is alive, and second, runs the Sparrow Academy instead of the Umbrella Academy. We saw the silhouettes (except for Ben) of these members but now a cast has been revealed.

  • Marcus a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 1" portrayed by Justin Cornwell
  • Ben a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 2" portrayed by Justin H. Min
  • FEI a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 3" portrayed by Britne Oldford
  • Alphonso a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 4" portrayed by Jake Epstein
  • Sloane a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 5" portrayed by Genesis Rodriguez
  • Jayme a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 6" portrayed by Cazzie David
  • Chris (a floating green cube) a.k.a. "Sparrow Number 7" portrayed by an unknown voice actor.

Also rumored for a season 3 cameo is Gerald Way, creator of the graphic novel series and frontman of My Chemical Romance. I hope he's the voice of Chris aka Sparrow number 7.
