GameStop Stock Is Good You Say? Screw That. Read The Geek Freak of the Week

Geeks, nerds, and dorks, another week has passed us and there is a lot of news yet again. Of course, HBO Max is making the most headlines (again). So, let's geek out!

#ReleaseTheSnyderCut

We have a date...I repeat, we have a date! March 18, 2021, on HBO Max. Director Zack Snyder's tweet doesn't give any indication to a "part 1" or any division of this version of Justice League so it looks like it will be the complete length, all four hours.

Wands At The Ready

At least in the writer's room, that is. HBO Max continues to make news by adding this piece of news to us muggles (well...Nomaj's according to Fantastic Beasts). A Harry Potter TV series is in early development. Will this be a prequel? Maybe a story about the Marauders of James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin? A Snape series? Before we get into that, is J.K. Rowling even involved? Still many questions before we get answers.

Get Ready To Game

Remember this announcement from Comic-Con (at home) back in July?

Six months later, there's more news to report. G4's flagship shows, X-Play and Attack of the Show, are coming with the relaunch and set to return when the network reboots sometime this coming summer. Any word if the original hosts will make a comeback as well? Stay tuned...

The Battle Is Coming...Later

Last weekend Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released the long-awaited Godzilla VS. Kong trailer. Packed with roars, punches, and city destruction, the battle of the two titans will be delayed...by one week. The next film of the Monsterverse will now stream on HBO Max and arrive in theaters on March 31st, 2021.

Speaking of the trailer, if you thought you spotted MechaGodzilla, it seems your wishes might be coming true. That story here.

Robin Times Three

First, there was Dick Grayson as the Boy Wonder. Then, Jason Todd took on the mantle. Now, in the third season of HBO Max's series Titans, the third Robin will arrive.

Jay Lycurgo has reportedly been cast as Tim Drake, the third Robin. The actor is no stranger to Gotham or even being around Batman. In the trailer for The Batman, Jay is the "crying thug" in the trailer. Does this mean that the two are connected? No way..at least I don't think so.

Don't forget to listen to the latest Geek Freak of the Week Podcast available for your earbuds on iHeartradio. Until next week...I'm Maz and that's the Geek Freak of the Week!
